As we know, the 24th of January is the Unification Day of Romania. On January the 24th, Moldavia and Wallachia formally united to create the United Principalities. Along with Transylvania, these principalities were seen as crucial in the foundation of modern Romania.
Because the 24 of January is such an important day for Romanians, I was thinking that we all celebrate it this weekend. This means that we’ll be waiting for you this weekend with some Romanian meals. We’ll prepare for you fried chicken with polenta and homemade garlic sauce (pui la ceaun), brasovence (fried pancakes with either minced pork meat, either with chicken and mushrooms) served with sour cream or ketchup, baked beans with Romanian sausages (iahnie de fasole) and cabbage à Cluj (varza à la Cluj) served with sour cream and hot peppers and, of course, our famous desert, the Bitelicious Papanasi.
If you want to spend some time in our friendly Bitelicious coffee shop, we are here for you and we’ll do our best to make you feel like as if you were home, we’ll try to bring a little taste of Romania 🙂
